Programs

The Literacy Initiative has been awarded two grants. In fiscal year 2002 and 2004, the Literacy Initiative was one of five partners awarded a competitive U. S. Department of Health and Human Services Early Learning Opportunities Act grant. The grant amount was slightly less than a million dollars of which a little more than $120,000 went to the Literacy Initiative over 17 months. Since fiscal year 2002, the Literacy Initiative has been a recipient of a competitive Pathways to Family Success Pilot Project grant from the Massachusetts Family Literacy Consortium and the Massachusetts Department of Education. The grant amount is $60,000 per year. The Community Learning Center in Cambridge serves as the fiscal agent.
